We are a small breeder of Miniature Australian Shepherds, AKC Miniature American Shepherds and Australian Cattle Dogs.
I received my first Miniature Aussie in 2009; I had lost my Great Dane of 12 years and was determined not to get another dog because it hurt to lose one. My husband and 2 daughters found a small black tri girl and insisted that I go look at her. I thought about it for 2 weeks then the girls talked me in to looking at her and of course she was adorable, feisty little Aussie package. Roxie became my best friend, she went everywhere with me. She was a total of 17 pounds and 14 inches tall but was ALL Aussie. Then came along Buddy, we found him in Carter where my daughter lived, he had been hanging around her house for 2 weeks and took a trip to her house to get hay and that day he jumped in our truck and has been with use ever since. We think he is around 8 years old and is an amazing dog. My oldest daughter fell in love with Buddy and decided we needed a blue merle female so here came along Blue. Blue is the most amazing girl she trained easy, loves children and she is named after my grandson Collin. Blue gave us 3 wonderful litters out of Buddy BUT then we learned a lot about health testing from a very informative Breeder. I learned the importance of health testing in this breed.
All of our breeding stock is health tested and the litters that we planned are carefully matched for the best temperaments for an awesome all around pet and companion for the active family.
My first concern in my Aussies is health and temperament; they must be friendly, love children, train easily, and then conformation, agility/ herding talents, and color.
We now have what I call a huge dog home for our furry family members; they have their own quarters and runs. The building is 20’ x 40’ and it has 10’ covered runs on both sides of the building. The Dog home is next to our home and is easily accessed from our home.
We have 10 acres for the dogs to run every day and play. They love to swim in the water tanks and go for walks when my 16 year old daughter rides her horse or the 4 wheeler. Our 3 grandchildren visit often and help socialize the puppies by playing with them, they always say the best thing about Grandma's house is the puppies.
